Biography
Daena Hirjikaka is a certified genetic counsellor in Genetics and Genome Biology at SickKids. Her work focuses on research related to disorders of epigenetic machinery and skeletal dysplasias. She is particularly interested in clinical trials and knowledge translation, with a focus on connecting discoveries in genomic research with patient care. Daena helps patients and families understand emerging scientific information so they can make informed decisions about their care. She is a member of the Genomic Research Genetic Counsellors at SickKids and the Communications Committee of the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors.
